Okonomiyaki Recipe (Japanese Pancake)

Ingredients

 

egg - 1

flour - 1 cup

dashi powder - 1 stick

water - 1 1/2 cup

salt - to taste

Japanese soy sauce - 1 tbsp

bacon - 5 slices, sliced

cabbage - 1/2, cut into strips

pickled ginger - 1 tbsp

spring onion - 2 tbsp, chopped

nori, bonito flakes, mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce

Method

 

First, dissolve dashi powder into water, then add to the flour.

Add egg, soy sauce and salt. Mix well.

Combine cabbage, spring onion, pickled ginger and bacon together. Then add to the egg and flour mix.

Heat the pan, scoop mixture into the pan and cook until it turn slightly brown on both sides.

Finally, arrange the pancake on a dish and topped with nori, bonito flakes, mayonnaise and okonomiyaki sauce. Makes 4-6.
