Message to parents

Good nutrition is most important to health. Research is now providing that the long-term repercussions of eating poor quality food can result in significant health problems such as cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, bowel disease, poor bone development and dental disease.

Research have shown that starting a healthy diet for heart in young age reduce the prevalence of obesity, high blood cholesterol level and blood pressure that commonly occur in adults, thereby reducing the rate of progression of atherosclerosis and delaying the onset of clinical coronary artery disease.

Studies also found that the Africans who had abandoned the traditional diet for western processed food were subjected to the same chronic diseases (including cancer, heart disease, intestinal problems and endocrine dysfunction, weaker immune system and obesity) as the white population observed. Their children were also born with dental malocclusions.

Parents are ultimate gatekeeper s of their children's nutrition. What do you buy, how you cook, the food you eat or refuse - these behaviors send strong messages about food to your children.

As food providers and living examples, we make the most direct impact on the eating and exercise habits of our children. If our children are fed a healthy, natural and uncontaminated diet, they might have a better chance to grow up calm and clear. We might see fewer of them becoming trapped in substance abuse, and more of them becoming balanced capable human being.
