Tortellini with Ham Recipe

Ingredients

  • 250 grams meat-filled tortellini

  • 110 grams half cooked ham (diced)

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 100 ml double cream

  • 1 cup of grano padano grated cheese

  • 30 ml olive oil

  • 150 ml passata (strained tomato)

  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Cook the pasta to the right softness, drain well and set aside.

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan and sauté the chopped onion for few minutes then add the diced ham in and continue to cook for another 3 minutes.

  • Add the passata in and seasoning to taste. Bring it to a boil then simmer for few minutes until the sauce is slightly reduced. Stir in the cream and the pasta.

  • Add grano padano generously to the dish and toss well to mix.

  • Top with more grated cheese and serve warm.
